The Battle on the Beach event has once again brought hundreds of cyclists to the Carmarthenshire coastline, showcasing both the natural beauty and historic character of Pembrey Country Park.

Although I was unable to attend personally due to other commitments, it is clear that this yearโ€™s event represents another significant success for the park and the wider Pembrey community. Since its launch in 2014, the event has grown into one of the UKโ€™s most distinctive off-road cycling challenges, attracting riders of all ages and abilities.

The combination of beach riding, dune climbs, and woodland trails โ€” all set within a landscape rich in industrial and wartime history โ€” makes it a truly unique experience. Events such as this play an important role in promoting the area, supporting local tourism, and strengthening community pride.

It is encouraging to see Pembrey continue to host events of this scale and quality.Congratulations to all participants, organisers, and volunteers involved in making the day such a success.Photo credit: Richard Swingler (WalesOnline)
