Did you know that one of the simplest ways to support people living with dementia is by becoming a Dementia Friend? A Dementia Friend is someone who takes a little time to learn more about what dementia is, how it affects people, and the small everyday actions that can help others feel understood, included, and supported.
It’s not about giving up lots of time — it’s about growing awareness and kindness in our community. Many people living with dementia tell us they often feel isolated or left out, not because people don’t care, but because dementia is still widely misunderstood. By becoming a Dementia Friend, you help change that.
What can a Dementia Friend do? Show patience and understanding Visit or check in on someone living with dementia or their carer Wear a Dementia Friends badge to spark awareness Support local fundraising, volunteering or campaigning Help make our community more welcoming and accessible.
Who can join?
