Carmarthenshire is once again embracing the spirit of St David’s Day with hwyl, kindness, and community togetherness — all inspired by the timeless words of our patron saint: -**“Gwnewch y pethau bychain.” “Do the little things.”**

This year, residents and visitors are being encouraged to take part in Random Acts of Welshness — the small gestures that bring a smile and strengthen our community.

Why not… Cook a warm bowl of cawl for a neighbour.

Wear a daffodil or leek with pride.

Try a few Welsh phrases.

Support a local shop, café, or maker. St David’s Day Events Across the County.

There’s something for everyone this year, with celebrations taking place right across Carmarthenshire: -

Parades & community celebrations.

Storytelling sessions, arts and crafts & children’s activities.

Food festivals showcasing the best Welsh produce.

Outdoor fun, including a special Welsh-themed 5K Colour Run.

And for 2026, there’s something brand new… The Little Things Festival – New for 2026! Hosted at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, this exciting festival celebrates the heart of Welsh culture with: -

Live Welsh music.

Hands-on workshops.

Interactive family trails.

A beautiful setting to enjoy the first signs of spring.

It’s the perfect place to spend St David’s weekend with family and friends.

As always, St David’s Day is a chance to celebrate who we are, what we value, and the kindness that defines our communities here in Pembrey, Burry Port, and across Carmarthenshire.

Wishing you all a wonderful, joyful St David’s Day — full of “the little things” that mean the most.
