I know this has been mentioned previously, but following further reports and concerns raised locally, I thought a timely reminder would be useful for everyone across our communities.

Dyfed-Powys Police have advised that potential rogue traders may currently be operating within parts of the area.

These individuals may cold call properties or knock on doors offering services such as: Roofing repairs, Guttering work, Patio or driveway repairs, Gardening or maintenance work.

Unfortunately, these types of incidents can sometimes specifically target elderly or more vulnerable residents, often placing people under pressure to agree to unnecessary or overpriced work. Please remember: Never feel pressured into agreeing to work immediately Always ask for identification and verify businesses independently Be cautious of unsolicited callers offering “urgent” repairs If something does not feel right, trust your instincts.

If you are suspicious of anyone calling at your property, please do not hesitate to contact Police on 101. Most importantly, please keep an eye on elderly neighbours, relatives, or vulnerable members of the community who may be more likely to be targeted. Sometimes simply making someone aware can help prevent them becoming a victim.

Looking out for one another remains one of the strongest things about our communities. Stay safe everyone.Stay connected — all my links, updates, and community projects are available through my digital hub:www.michaelthomas.wales
