I believe it’s important to keep residents informed about decisions that affect household finances. Carmarthenshire County Council has now set the Council Tax levels for the 2026–2027 financial year, and the updated charges for each property band are shown in the images attached to this post.
Council Tax helps fund many of the essential services that our communities rely on every day, including: -
• Education and schools.
• Social care for vulnerable adults and children.
• Waste collection and recycling.
• Highways and infrastructure maintenance.
• Community services and local support programmes.
• Libraries, leisure and cultural services.
While many residents will understandably be concerned about rising household costs, it’s important that people have clear information about how the new charges will affect each property band.
The tables attached show the annual charge for each Council Tax band for 2026–2027, so residents can easily see where their property sits. If you are unsure what Council Tax band your property is in, or if you have any questions about the changes, please feel free to get in touch and I will do my best to help. As always, keeping residents informed and ensuring transparency around council decisions is very important to me.
