Many older residents across Carmarthenshire want to stay living independently in the homes they love — but sometimes small repairs, safety checks or home adaptations can make a huge difference. That’s where Care & Repair Carmarthenshire comes in.

They are a not-for-profit service funded by the Welsh Government and Carmarthenshire County Council, dedicated to helping older people and disabled adults stay safe, warm and independent at home.

Their team can help with things like: -

1. Advice and support with repairs, maintenance and home adaptations.

2. Healthy Homes safety checks.

3. Checking you are receiving the correct benefits and financial support.

4. Help accessing grants to make homes warmer and more energy efficient.

5. Finding trusted contractors and helping organise repair work.

6. Home Fire Safety Checks with the Fire & Rescue Service.

7. Help adapting homes so people can safely return from hospital.

8. Practical help for people living with sensory impairments.

Sometimes something as simple as a handrail, safer heating, or a small repair can help someone stay independent for years longer.

Who can use the service?.

• Residents living in Wales.

• Usually aged 60+.

• Homeowners or private tenants(Some services are also available to disabled adults under 60)
