Last updated at 21:12 on 2 February 2026, a new Flood Alert has been issued for the stretch of the Carmarthenshire coast between Pendine and Hendy, just east of Llanelli.
With tides climbing higher than usual and the weather adding extra pressure, this part of the coastline is facing a period of increased flood risk.
According to the alert, the risk window spans from the high tide on Tuesday morning (3rd February) through to the morning of Thursday 4th February.
During this time, low-lying land and several coastal roads may experience flooding. For anyone living, working, or travelling through the area, it’s important to take extra care. Beaches, coastal paths, estuary edges, and vulnerable low-lying areas could all become hazardous. Even if the water doesn’t appear deep, coastal flooding can change quickly and catch people off guard.
While authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, it’s worth planning ahead—checking routes, staying updated with local advice, and avoiding unnecessary coastal journeys over the next couple of days. I’ll keep an eye out for any further updates. Until then, stay safe, stay aware, and keep an eye on neighbours or family members who may be affected by the changing conditions.
