An official Flood Alert has been issued by Natural Resources Wales covering the Carmarthenshire coastline between Pendine and Hendy (east of Llanelli). The alert is in place due to Storm Dave, which is expected to bring large waves and coastal swell around the evening high tide on Saturday 4th April. As a result, flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible.

⚠️ What this means

Residents and visitors in coastal areas should remain alert and take sensible precautions, particularly around:

  • Beaches and coastal footpaths
  • Estuaries
  • Low-lying roads and land

✅ What you can do

  • Follow your flood plan if you have one
  • Check on family members, neighbours, and pets
  • Charge your mobile phone
  • Move valuables and important documents to a safe place
  • Prepare a small emergency bag in case you need to leave your home
  • Know how to turn off your electricity, gas, and water supplies

🚫 Important safety advice

Do not walk or drive through floodwater.

Even shallow water can be extremely dangerous and unpredictable.
