From 11–24 May, we recognise and celebrate the incredible foster carers across Carmarthenshire and Wales who open their homes, hearts and lives to children and young people who need love, care and stability.

Every day, foster carers make a real difference β€” often through the small moments that matter most:

🏑 Providing a safe and welcoming home
πŸ’› Helping a child learn to trust again
πŸ“š Supporting them through school and change
🌟 Giving encouragement, confidence and hope for the future.

This year’s theme, β€œThis is Fostering”, shines a light on the compassion, patience and commitment shown by foster carers every single day. At the same time, there is an urgent need for more local foster carers so that children in Carmarthenshire can remain close to their schools, friendships, communities and support networks whenever possible.

Not everyone can foster β€” but everyone can help.
