Shared with PublicResidents across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire are being encouraged to share their views on local community pharmacy services as part of an important consultation being carried out by Hywel Dda University Health Board.
Community pharmacies play a vital role in supporting people’s health and wellbeing — from prescriptions and advice to minor illness support and wider healthcare services closer to home.
This consultation is an opportunity for local people to help shape how these services are delivered in the future. Since 2021, all health boards in Wales have been required by Welsh Government to produce a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA).
This helps identify: What pharmacy services already exist Where there may be gaps in provision What future services communities may need. An updated draft assessment has now been prepared following earlier engagement with pharmacy contractors and members of the public, and further feedback is now being invited before the final version is produced.
Consultation opened: 18 May 2026 Consultation closes: 17 July 2026
If you use local pharmacy services — or care about healthcare provision within our communities — this is an excellent opportunity to help ensure local voices are heard.
