Over the past few weeks, several residents have contacted me asking about what home care services are available locally and how people can access them. Because this question has come up a number of times, I thought it would be helpful to share some information that may support individuals and families across our community.
Many people want to remain living safely and independently in their own homes for as long as possible. When extra support is needed, there are services available that can help make that possible. One of these is Home First Care, a service that supports people across Carmarthenshire with practical help at home.
Home First Care may be able to help with: -
• Short-term support after illness or returning home from hospital.
• Ongoing help with day-to-day living.
• Support for people living with conditions such as dementia.
• Helping people maintain independence in their own homes.
How the process works: -
Make contact with the Home First Care team to discuss your situation...
1. Assessment – they will arrange to understand what support is needed
2. Personal care plan tailored to individual needs
3. Care begins at home with trained support workers.
The goal of the service is simple — helping people stay safe, independent and supported in the place they feel most comfortable: their own home.
If you think this information could help someone you know — perhaps a parent, neighbour, friend or relative — please feel free to share it with them. Sometimes just knowing where to ask for help can make a huge difference.
Community question: -
Have you or someone in your family ever used home care services locally?(Only share if you’re comfortable — your experience could help others.)
