Since the launch of the Claim What’s Yours service in 2022, Carmarthenshire County Council has helped residents access more than £12m in financial support. In 2025 alone, 2,596 residents were supported to claim £4.5m in benefits and assistance.
The three main Hwbs — Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford — along with Hwb Bach y Wlad, welcomed over 56,000 visits from residents seeking advice. Examples of support include: -
• A household now £24,626.94 better off per year following a full benefits assessment.
• Another household £19,181 better off, receiving PIP, Carer’s Allowance, council tax reduction and increased Universal Credit.
