Significant funding has been secured through the Welsh Government’s Regional Transport Grant Programme, with nearly £25 million allocated across south-west Wales to support transport improvements.Carmarthenshire will benefit from a range of projects aimed at enhancing safety, accessibility and sustainability.

  • ÂŁ750,000 – Road safety improvements in Llanelli (Station Road/New Dock Road), including shared-use paths and traffic calming

  • ÂŁ2.69 million – Investment in walking, wheeling and cycling infrastructure across Llanelli, Carmarthen, Llandovery and Cross Hands

  • ÂŁ330,000 – Public transport improvements, including completion of the Llanelli Multimodal Interchange and development of regional transport initiatives

  • ÂŁ500,000 – Ultra-low emission vehicle infrastructure, including a rapid charging hub in Nantgaredig

  • ÂŁ2.05 million – Highways and access improvements, including town centre upgrades and bridge resilience work
