Keeping our communities safe is not just about responding to crime, but also about understanding where people feel unsafe and why.

StreetSafe is a service that allows residents to report safety concerns in public places anonymously. It provides an opportunity to highlight environmental or situational issues that may not meet the threshold of a crime but still impact people’s confidence and wellbeing.Residents can report concerns such as:

  • Poorly lit streets or alleyways

  • Abandoned or derelict buildings

  • Vandalism or damage to public areas

  • Unsafe parks, walkways, or community spaces

  • Situations where they have felt uncomfortable, intimidated, or unsafe

This information is used by policing and partner organisations to better understand local concerns and prioritise improvements.

Important Information

StreetSafe is not designed for reporting crimes or emergencies.

  • In an emergency or where there is immediate danger, always call 999

  • Non-emergency crimes should be reported via standard police reporting routes

For residents with hearing or speech impairments:

  • Textphone: 18000

  • EmergencySMS (pre-registration required): text 999
