I am pleased to support the Autism Awareness Month activities taking place throughout April at Burry Port Community Primary School. To help promote this important work, I have put together a short compilation highlighting the school’s programme of events and its wider commitment to inclusion and understanding.

As a school governor, I am particularly encouraged by the school’s ambition to develop a bespoke outdoor learning environment for CYG pupils. This will provide a dedicated space designed to support learning, wellbeing, and engagement. A range of activities will take place across the month, including:

  • Whole-school Autism Awareness launch

  • Creative competitions promoting inclusion and understanding

  • Wear Blue for Autism Day (17th April)

  • Autism Awareness Cinema Night (22nd April)

  • Sponsored “Minute to Win It” event

These activities play an important role in raising awareness while supporting a meaningful and lasting improvement to the school environment. I would encourage residents to support where possible and help make this project a success.
