Our Town Council’s Meals on Wheels service is all about community care. Yes, it’s about delivering fresh, home-cooked meals — but just as importantly, it’s about delivering kindness, connection, and a friendly face at the door.
It was a real pleasure to spend some time recently helping out with deliveries. Being out in the community, meeting residents and playing a small part in something so positive was genuinely rewarding — and I’ll certainly continue to help when the opportunity and time allows.
But the real credit goes to the incredible volunteers who make this happen week in, week out. Your commitment, compassion and consistency are what make this service so special. Thank you for everything you do.
🍽 What the service offers: • Deliveries every Monday & Wednesday • Fresh, nutritious home-cooked meals • Main meal just £5 • Add a pudding for only £1 • Open to all residents in Pembrey & Burry Port
For many, Meals on Wheels is more than just food… It’s a wellbeing check, a friendly chat, and a reminder that community truly matters.
I’m extremely proud that our Town Council is the only Town and Community Council in Wales providing a service like this — a fantastic achievement for our area.
