Supporting Autism Awareness Month at Burry Port Community Primary School

I am pleased to support the upcoming Autism Awareness Month activities taking place throughout April at Burry Port Community Primary School.

As a school governor, I am particularly encouraged by the school’s ambition to create a bespoke outdoor learning environment for CYG pupils. This initiative will provide a dedicated space designed to support inclusion, wellbeing, and engagement for children with additional needs.

A programme of awareness and fundraising activities will take place across the month, including:

  • Whole-school Autism Awareness launch

  • Creative competitions promoting inclusion and understanding

  • Wear Blue for Autism Day (17th April)

  • Autism Awareness Cinema Night (22nd April)

  • Sponsored “Minute to Win It” event

These activities not only raise funds but also play a vital role in promoting awareness, acceptance, and inclusion within the school and wider community.

I would encourage residents to support where possible and help make this important project a success.
