What a fantastic evening at Ffwrnes Theatre for the premiere of We Will Rock You, superbly staged by Eclipse Productions.
Donna and I thoroughly enjoyed opening night, and I wanted to share just how proud we should be of the talent we have here in our area. The standard of the production was outstanding from start to finish — powerful performances, tremendous vocals, great humour, energy, and a real sense of professionalism throughout.
It was clear to see the enormous amount of hard work, commitment and passion that had gone into bringing the show to life.
What made the evening even more special was knowing that some of those performing on stage come from our own communities in Pembrey and Burry Port. It is wonderful to see local people shining in productions of this quality and helping showcase the creativity, confidence and talent that exists right here on our doorstep.
Community theatre and the performing arts play such an important role. They bring people together, create opportunities, build confidence, inspire young people and give us all evenings to remember. Supporting local productions also supports local talent, local venues and the wider cultural life of our county.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved both on stage and behind the scenes. You should all be incredibly proud of what you have achieved. If you get the opportunity to go and see it, I would highly recommend it. Diolch yn fawr.
