PEMBREY & BURRY PORT TOWN COUNCIL MAIN SITE

Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council Homepage

Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council covers a coastal area from the Moreb roundabout in the east to Cefn Sidan beach in the west and contains all of Pinged Marsh and Pembrey Mountain.

It includes the settlements of Pembrey, Burry Port and Pinged. There has been settlement in the area from prehistoric times, but the modern settlements have their origins in the medieval period and the early 19th century.

We have a rich history of farming, fishing, mining and industry, and have been the site of many historically significant events.

Its coastal location means it has strong ties with the sea and is blessed with one of the best beaches in Wales, making it a favourite spot for many tourists.

Today the area is home to about 9000 people, who together form a thriving community with numerous organisations and clubs, social and activity groups covering a wide variety of subject matters.
