Why I volunteer....
Volunteering has always been an important part of how I serve Pembrey and Burry Port. Alongside my role as your County Councillor, I’m proud to give my time to the local organisations that make a real difference in people’s lives every day. This page highlights the groups I volunteer with, the incredible work they do, and the ways you can get involved or to become involved with many other organisations that are always looking for volunteers. Our community is strongest when we stand alongside the organisations that support us — and I hope you’ll join me in celebrating them and, where you can, lending a hand.

Llais...Your Voice in Health and Social Care
Volunteering with Llais means a great deal to me because it gives people a genuine voice in the health and social care services they rely on. I’m proud to be part of an organisation that listens carefully to real experiences — good and bad — and makes sure that feedback reaches the decision‑makers who can improve services. What matters most to me is that Llais actively seeks out those whose voices are too often overlooked, ensuring that everyone in our communities is heard and valued. Being able to support that work, and help shape a healthier Wales that truly reflects people’s needs, is something I find incredibly rewarding.

Our Armed Forces community has given so much through service at home and overseas, and it’s important that we recognise that commitment not just in words, but through practical help when it’s needed most. Volunteering with SSAFA allows me to play a small part in ensuring that those who have served, and the families who stand behind them, are never left to face those challenges alone.
