I’m pleased to say that Carmarthenshire County Council has launched a major rural Net Zero research project at Bremenda Isaf.
The initiative — O Llaith i Gynnes: Low Carbon Solutions for Rural Welsh Homes — is led by Cardiff University and funded through the EPSRC Switch Net Zero Wales programme. It aims to develop practical, low‑carbon retrofit solutions for traditional rural homes, particularly pre‑1919 solid‑walled properties.
I’m pleased to say that over £12 million in support payments has now been claimed by Carmarthenshire residents through the Council’s Hwbs.
Since the launch of the Claim What’s Yours service in 2022, Carmarthenshire County Council has helped residents access more than £12m in financial support. In 2025 alone, 2,596 residents were supported to claim £4.5m in benefits and assistance.

Council Tax Update for 2026–2027
I believe it’s important to keep residents informed about decisions that affect household finances. Carmarthenshire County Council has now set the Council Tax levels for the 2026–2027 financial year, and the updated charges for each property band are shown in the images attached to this post.
