Empty properties can sometimes become more than just an eyesore — they can attract vandalism, anti-social behaviour and fall into serious disrepair over time. But with the right support, many of these buildings could instead become safer, protected and even brought back into positive community use.

I was absolutely delighted to see confirmation that Cefn Sidan Beach has once again retained its prestigious Blue Flag Award status for 2026 — continuing its incredible reputation as one of the very best beaches not only in Wales, but anywhere in the world.

When it comes to ageism — one of the most normalised and often overlooked forms of discrimination — simply questioning attitudes and stereotypes can help create real change. Every generation has value. Every person has experience, wisdom, individuality, and something important to contribute to our communities.
