Many people care deeply about protecting our landscapes, habitats and wildlife. One organisation working passionately to ensure nature has a strong voice is Wild Cymru, an independent conservation charity dedicated to safeguarding the future of Welsh wildlife.

The sudden closure of the Stradey Park Hotel has understandably caused concern across our community, particularly for the staff whose jobs and livelihoods have been directly affected. Carmarthenshire County Council has been working quickly to provide clarity, reassurance, and practical support during this uncertain time.

Carmarthenshire County Council is marking International Women’s Day with a full week of events, activities and online sessions designed to celebrate, support and empower women and girls across our communities. Fantastic news — the brand-new hydrotherapy pool at Canolfan Pentre Awel is now officially open to NHS patients, with access for Actif members from Monday, 2 March. This is a major step forward for health, wellbeing and rehabilitation services in our area.

Shocking new research has revealed that litter is present on almost every major road in Wales — with 98.8% of A and B roads showing signs of rubbish, and cigarette butts found on 88%.

I just wanted to share some vitally important health information that could genuinely save a life in our community. In the UK, someone experiences a stroke every five minutes – that’s around 100,000 strokes a year – and numbers are sadly rising due to lifestyle factors and an ageing population.

I recently came across this video and really enjoyed watching it and listening to the theory behind one of the mysterious 1937 radio signals. I’m not entirely convinced by the conclusion myself, but I still thought it was interesting — and worth sharing for anyone who follows the ongoing aviation mystery surrounding Amelia Earhart

I thought this would be worth sharing with any local organisations, charities or volunteer groups who are working hard on funding bids and want to give themselves the best possible chance of success.
